C.H.A.R.M. – Capitol Hill Area Runners’ Movement – is an outreach of the Health and Temperance ministry of the Capitol Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church.

We are a group of passionate runners and walkers that love to share our experiences and help people grow.

Our goal is to be closer to God through:

  • outdoor activities including running and walking
  • creating a sense of solidarity and support for first-time runners/walkers as well as seasoned athletes
  • Christian fellowship and outreach
  • promoting health and temperance and honoring the body temple

Exercise Groups

We understand that everyone has different levels of capability, so to accommodate all that are willing to exercise, we have 4 exercise levels:
This group walks at moderate to brisk paces (no running). Based on the schedule, the session can last from one to two hours.
This group usually runs for 5-minute intervals, then walks for 10-minute intervals. Based on the schedule, the distances can range from 3 miles up to 13.3 miles (half-marathon).
This group runs for the entire exercise session. The pace is based on individual capability (although most will stay with the group pace) and the distance can range from 3 miles up to 26.2 miles (marathon).
This group runs for the duration of the exercise and keeps a pace of at least 9 miles (or below) per hour. The distance can range from 3 miles up to 26.2 miles (marathon).

For those times when you want a more personal approach to achieving your health goals.
